Glazed Ceramic Tile
Glaze tile is anatural product consisting of clay, minerals, and water. Glazed ceramic tile has a ceramic coating applied to the tile body, which gives it its color and finish.


Unglazed Ceramic Tile
There is no coatin applied to unglazed tile, so the color is the same on both the face and back of the tile, Unglazed tile is very durable and does not show signs of traffic, making it ideal for haeavy commercial installations.

Glazed
Glazed tile is stain, scratch , and fade resistant. It is also fire-retardant, hygienic and easy to clean.

Unglazed
Unglazed tile is thicker and denser than glazed tile, It is highly durable, slip resistant and natural.

Group 1
Group 1 tiles are suitable for residential bathrooms with light foot traffic. Wall tiles also fall into this category, and some wall tiles can also be used as floorcovering.
Group II
Group II tiles are recommended for light to medium residential traffic areas, such as kitchens, foyers, laundry rooms, etc.
Group III
Group III tiles are suitable for all residential installations.
Group IV
Group IV tiles are suitable for all residential and light to medium commercial installations.
Group V
The most durable of tiles, Group V tiles are recommended for heavy traffic areas and wet areas where safety is a concer, such as food service areas, exterior areas, shopping malls, and swimming pools.

Porcelain
Porcelain is the densest of all tiles and features a fine-grained, smooth clay body such as that used for fine china. Glazed porcelain is highly stain-resistant and strong.
Quarry Tiles
Quarry tiles are ty0pically unglazed and are made from natural clays and shale. Its thick, dense body makes it slip resistant.
Natural Stone Tiles
Natural stone tiles are suitable for walls, floors and countertops, These tiles are cut from natural stone such as marble, granite or slate.
Terra-Cotta Tiles
Terra-Cotta tiles may be hand or machine-made, with machine-made tiles being more dense and frost resistant, These tiles come in colors ranging from reddish-orange to brown to yellow.
Mosaic Tiles
Mosaic tiles are hightly dense, durable and stain resistant. Mosaics are always less than 6 square inches and usually less than 2" x 2". They are often mounted on mesh for easy installation.

Non-Vitreous Tiles
Non-Vitreous tiles absorb 7% or more moisture, and are suited for indoor use only.
Semi-Vitreous Tiles
These tiles absorb from 3% to 7% moisture, and are suited for indoor use.
Vitreous Tiles
Vitreous tiles absorb less than 3% moisture. Although considered "frost resistant," they coud crack under freeze/thaw conditions.
Impervious Tiles
These have less than .5% moisture absorption, making them frost proof and suitable for exterior areas.

Bicottura
"Bicottura" is Italian for "Double-fired." The clay body of these tiles is fired on the first pass through the kiln, and a glaze is applied and fired on the second pass through the kiln. This process is used for decorative wall tile products.

Monocottura
Its name meaning "Single-fired, " these tiles pass through the fire only once, at a temperature of 2200 degees. They have denser bodies and harder glazes than bicottura tiles.

WALL TRIM

Bullnose
Bullnose is the most common trim shape for wall tile installations and is sometimes referred to as "surface cap." It has one rounded finished edge on the file and can be used vertically or horizontally.

Corner Bullnose
Corner bullnose has two rounded finished edges on the tile to be used to complete the tile where the horizontal and vertical bullnose meet.

Stack -ON Cove Base
This base provides a covering on the bottom and a flat edge on top.
Rouded TopCove Base
This base features a rounded, finished top like bullnose and is used as cove base in areas that will not have wall tile installed above it.

FLOOR TRIM

Bullnose
The Bullnose floor trim syle has one rounded finished edge to give it a nice, finished touch and can be used as a substitue for cove base.

Corner Bullnose
Corner bullnose floor trim style has two rounded, finished edges on the tile and is used to complete a corner.
Sanitary Cove Base
This floor trim style has a rounded, finished top like a bullnose that covers the body of the tile.
